A man, Saliman Ogunyemi, has pleaded with the Agege Customary Court, Lagos, to ask Pastor and Mrs. Isaac Komolafe to produce his two sons from where they hid them.
The accused, both pastors of Christ The Corner Stone Bible Church, at No. 12 Adelanwa Street, Ipaja, however, claimed that the children’s mother, Ms. Biola Jimoh, brought them to their house.
Isaac said Jimoh and his wife, Olasunkanmi, were friends. He said that Jimoh, with the consent of Ogunyemi, had put her kids in their care in 2010.
He said the rent for the accommodation that Ogunyemi got for his family had expired and at that time, Jimoh had plans to travel abroad.
He said when she was away in South Africa, Jimoh called frequently to talk to the children.
He said that initially, Ogunyemi was coming to visit the children but for about six months he had stopped.
The pastor claimed that whenever Ogunyemi came, he tried to take the children home for weekend but they refused.
He said that Jimoh had warned them that on no condition should the kids go home with their father.
Isaac stated that Jimoh gave the directive because Ogunyemi is polygamous and the other wife was not in good terms with her.
He said all the period the children stayed with them, Ogunyemi hardly bought them anything except some occasional loaves of bread.
Isaac shared with the court the story of how the younger son went for surgery because he was born with an abnormality in his penis.
He said during that period, they were in the hospital for two months with the children’s father.
He stated that Jimoh called and told them that her cousin was coming for the children. She gave them the man’s name and his telephone number.
When the man came, he said they handed over both children to him and they believed he took the children to Abuja.
He said he and his wife had spoken with Jimoh and her children who are now in London.
The couple claimed that Ogunyemi had also spoken with Jimoh and the children during the weekend and was told they were in London.
When the court asked the couple to provide the name, telephone number and address of the cousin who came for the children, they could not.
Olasunkanmi claimed that she had the male cousin’s name and telephone number on her phone.
When the court asked her to produce the phone, she claimed that the information was on her second phone, which she did not bring to court.
The court wondered and queried why they handed over two children to a stranger without getting the person’s name and address.
The couple were thereafter ordered to be remanded in prison till they could provide the identity of who they gave the children to.
