Youths beat traditional ruler blue-black in Ogun state

Oba Akanni of Ado-Odo area in Ogun is in critical condition at a hopital in the state. This resulted from the serios beatings he got from his community youths the previous day.

Akanni was stripped and beaten to a pulp and his palace was razed by some aggrieved youths. The monarch, had been having a running battle with some interest groups in the community, who allegedly did not want him despite a Supreme Court judgement validating his appointment three years ago.

The Oba was in his SUV when it was flagged down by some unidentified youths. Immediately the monarch stepped out of the vehicle, the youths descended on him, stripped him to his boxer shorts and paraded him around the village..

This is very barbaric but any good thinking person who has been refused leadership by his own people should just calm down and leave..... not work or force a way there..
