OH-OH! Lightning Strikes Vatican Just Hours After Pope Resigns

Few hours after German born Pope Benedict XVI shocked his close aides and  the world with his resignation, a very strange occurrence was recorded in the Vatican.
Lightning is said to have struck the roof of St. Peter's Basilica just hours after the Pontiff's announcement,  bringing about numerous superstitious theories.
While some believe the timing of the lightning to be sheer coincidence, more superstitious trolls suggest that it is an ominous sign from above.
The bolt reportedly hit the dome of St Peter's Basilica, regarded as one of the most important churches in the world where the Catholic faith is concerned.
Pope Benedict who officially steps down February 28th has indicated that he will continue to serve humanity "through a life dedicated to prayer."
He is the first Pontiff to step down on health reasons, and the the second in 600 years to relinquish the revered position.
