A THIEF was nicked within hours — after a CCTV picture of him was posted on FACEBOOK.
Edward Goble, 28, broke into a garage and stole a £400 scooter and a box of records.
But he hadn’t reckoned on his victim snapping him in the act, and uploading his picture on an Essex neighbourhood Facebook page.

Minutes later, one of the 4,000 members of the Basildon Memories group recognised Goble and contacted the police.
He was arrested the same night and admitted burglary when he appeared before magistrates at Basildon two days later.
In the wake of the swift justice Basildon Memories’ founder Ian Clarke, 44, praised his members for helping bring the crook to justice.
He said: “The group is like one big family and it is this type of family-orientated thinking that got the members to stick together and name this offender."
Goble was released on bail and will return to Basildon Magistrates’ Court next month for sentence.
