Two Japanese PHD students at Nara Institute of Science and Technology in Japan have built a real life Iron Man robot.
The Creators Kogoro Kurata and Wataru Yoshizaki were inspired by the robot original made for the Iron Man movie trilogy, which Robert Downey climbed into, to fly, and launch attacks. However, the real live Iron Man differs slightly as the first model is only programmed to fire BB air guns.
The 13ft steel monster-which travels up to 6mph-took two years to build and is controlled remotely by an iPod Touch, as well as by voice recognition technology or motion sensors in the cockpit via Microsoft’s Kinect game console.
The real life Iron monster has options such as a leather pilot’s seat or drink holder, and could be yours for a whooping sum of £800,000 or 202.4 million naira. The robot can also be painted in any color preferred by the buyer.
Despite the exorbitant amount placed on the real life Iron Man, the creators report that they are unable to meet the current demand as over 3,000 inquiries have been made already.
This Japanese people are just something else!
