A New Jersey man has made a name for himself by posting a video on YouTube that shows his sleepwalking mother moving her feet back and forth and spinning in circles in what appears to be a bizarre dance. ‘It's a special code,’ she says.
Nicola (Nick) Foti from Middlesex, N.J. regularly creates comedy videos for his YouTube account "soundlyawake." His video "S--t Girls Say to Gay Guys" has garnered close to 7 million views.
On Wednesday, Foti released the video of his mother sleepwalking called "My Mom Sleepwalking (Tomato Cage)."
In the video, Foti asks, "what exactly are you doing, ma?"
The mother moves her feet back and forth and spins in circles in what appears to be a bizarre dance. "It's a special code," she says.
After completing the special code, she explains, "I was trying to open up the tomato cage … I was doing a special thing but the tomato cage wouldn't open … I tried many things but it wouldn't open and I'm pissed off now."
Foti found his mother's actions and explanation hilarious enough to post on his comedy channel.
"Whatever medication she's on makes her sleepwalk/sleeptalk and even sleepeat. So glad I got this one on video lol," Foti wrote in the video description.
Foti also shot a follow-up video, in which he captures his mother's reaction to the sleepwalking episode.
"Oh my god," she says, laughing. "I had a dream about cherry-picking or tomato-picking-something." The woman, nevertheless, didn't laugh as much as Foti.
Foti took the joke on step further on Friday by uploading another video called "Tomato Cages 101 with Rita-Robin Smith." Dressed in drag, Foti plays a character discussing tomato cages.
But another video called "Cinnamon Challenge with MY MOM!" suggests that the woman appreciates her son's humor. Both awake in the video, the mother and son try to swallow a spoonful of cinnamon each and wound up scrambling to the sink.
Foti is currently competing in the King of the Web competition.
