Four Arsenal supporters arrested for murder during Sunday’s game against Liverpool

It had been reported that a night before Arsenal’s game at Anfield, a scaffolder who was with a girl at the Liverpool City Centre was seriously attacked by four Arsenal fans. Stuart Smith was taken to hospital but couldn’t survive the brutality as he gave up the ghost.

According to Sophie Cowan who was the girl with him, nobody came to help out while the attack was being carried out.

“She was screaming for someone to help Stuart while he was being attacked.

“I can’t believe no-one came to help. They just let it happen. How can people stand by while this is being done to another human being?” said her father.

The culprits escaped but their pictures were gotten from the CCTV cameras and they were being hunted for during the Liverpool vs Arsenal. The four criminals were spotted and apprehended at the Arsenal away fans section at Anfield.

A police spokesman said: “Merseyside Police can confirm that the arrests of the men yesterday (Sunday September 2) in relation to this matter took place inside Anfield during the Liverpool FC and Arsenal FC football match.

“The men, aged 39, 39, 33 and 27 who are all from the London area, are still being questioned by detectives and remain in custody at this time.”

Investigations had revealed their guilt and three out of the four are set to appear in court today. The reason for their attack is still unknown.
