Adeboye warned members and facebook users to verify the authenticity of his page through due verification before yielding to instructions.
He said, “Please be very careful what you easily fall for. There are some persons going around creating false Facebook pages or names, claiming they are Pastor E. A. Adeboye.
All you have to do is a search for them on Facebook and they will add you and then pretend to be me, telling you to send some money into an account and because they know you will obey me, they are using this as a new form of fraud. Please stop them and report those pages to Facebook so they can be stopped.”
Adeboye stated that a church member had reported to him on how someone had used his name on facebook to ask for some amount of money in order to embark on a trip to India.
Adeboye’s comment had generated serious buz on the internet as many people had replied by cursing those behind such acts. some had stated that no true christain will fall victim since the spirit will always direct them. According to some people, a true christian will always work in the spirit.
