Police Deny Arrest Of Female Kidnapper

The DPO of Oke-Odo Police Station, Akin Omoolaoye has denied that his men arrested a female kidnapper as claimed by some landlords in Agbelekale, Abule Egba area of Lagos State, southwest Nigeria.

He said there was no arrest of any female kidnapper as at the time of filing this report.

“No female kidnapper was brought to Oke-Odo Police Station,” he said.




To back the police claim, a resident in the area who pleaded anonymity explained that some landlords in the area used the police as a cover to smuggle the suspect out of the area to prevent her from being lynched by the mob.

P.M.NEWS gathered that but for the interventon of the landlords, the suspect, identified as Tawa, would have been lynched for allegedly kidnaping a year old plus girl.

The suspect was caught in Agbelekale in Abule Egba.

Witnesses told P.M.NEWS that Tawa who claimed to be a mother of four, was battered by the mob after allegedly fleeing with a year old plus girl named Latifat(surname withheld).

The baby was said to be the last born of a woman identified as Iya Rukkayat, who resides at 4, Dare Olumefun Street Agbelekale, Abule Egba.

P.M.NEWS learnt further that the wife of one Alfa living in the area saw Tawa along the street carrying the baby.

On being accosted, the suspect who pretended to be insane allegedly dropped the baby and fled. She was, however, caught.
