Okorie Nwankwo, a native of Bende in Abia State, Southeast Nigeria, has been miraculously healed of a 17-year old insanity.
The healing which occurred on Tuesday, 21 August, 2012, attracted a mammoth crowd at Olugbede Close, Egbeda, Lagos State, as residents and passersby who have known Nwankwo for years could not believe their eyes.
Worshippers at New Man Assembly Church, were particularly grateful to God for the healing of Nwankwo, described as a very violent man.
“What we are witnessing today is amazing and it shows that God is still in the business of healing the sick. It reminds me of what Psalm 126:1 says that ‘When the LORD brought back the captivity of Zion, we were like those who dream.’” a resident of Olugbede Close, told P.M.NEWS.
Pastor Rotimi of New Man Assembly Church, Olugbede Close, Pipeline Bus Stop, Egbeda, attributed the miraculous healing of Nwankwo to God’s mercy and grace. He stated that members of his congregation were on a mission to exercise the power and faith of God in them when they met Nwankwo around Egbeda and decided to pray for him.
“We have been praying for days in the church for the healing of our land and trusting God that our salvation was near for total healing. When some members of the church went out on the street around Egbeda, they saw Okorie Nwankwo and decided to pray for him. In the course of praying, he (Nwankwo) recovered his senses and discovered that he was naked.
“They brought him to the church and intensive prayers were offered for him and to God’s glory, he has been healed by God,” Rotimi stated.
Pastor Rotimi advised Nigerians and Lagosians in particular to put their trust in God as He is the only one that can heal and restor their battered glory.
Nwankwo who was full of praise to God, wore clothes and shoes for the first time in 17 years, told P.M.NEWS that his healing was a touch from God and that he will eternally be grateful to God for what He had perfected in his life. He stated that all he could remember was that he resided in Gowon Estate, Egbeda before the insanity began.
When probed further on what led to his ill health, Nwankwo said he could not recall what happened then.
Nwankwo also told P.M.NEWS that he could not remember any of the addresses of immediate family. He sought for assistance from members of the public who could still recognise him to come to his aid in order for him to be reunited with him family.
