Imagine LASTMA officials standing in front of moving vehicles trying to arrest it for committing whatever traffic offence…and then the panic driver run him over while trying to escape? They keep doing this (standing in front of moving vehicles) from time to time…sadly, we keep losing them.
Just few weeks ago, a female banker with IBTC Bank was arrested and charged for allegedly killing a staff of the Traffic Agency, she was later discharged by the court.
Also in June, another staff of the agency was killed at Ojota while trying to apprehend a commercial bus driver. Few months ago, another one was knocked down at Oke-Afa, Isolo…
With proper modern-day training - these deaths are avoidable…
These vehicles are registered with the government, why not take note of their plate numbers and then track the offenders subsequently?
Gov. Fashola should please call his “untrained” traffic men to order so as to stop keep losing them to panic “hit and run” culprit motorists…
