Backstreet Boys are back! Boy band reunites to perform on ABC's ‘Good Morning America’ summer concert series

The boyband that topped the charts in the ‘90s performed in front of an audience of 40-somethings chanelling their inner ‘tween.

Oh my God, they're back again.

The Backstreet Boys reunited on stage Friday for the first time since 2006, performing on ABC’s “Good Morning America” before a throng of fans who hadn’t forgotten the boy band that dominated the ‘90s.

Kevin Richardson, who left the group six years ago, rejoined the other four Backstreeters – Nick Carter, Brian Littrell, Howie Dorough and A.J. McLean as part of the morning show’s America Summer Concert series in New York's Central Park.

“My heart said this is the time,” the 40-year-old Richardson told the crowd

The band dedicated their song “Larger Than Life,” to "GMA” s anchor Robin Roberts, who went on medical leave from the morning show the previous day. News that Roberts’ mother also passed away late Thursday dominated the telecast.

The Backstreet Boys also performed their hit, “I Want It That Way” to the delight of the former ‘tween girls, now all grown up, that dominated the audience. A smattering of signs welcoming Richardson back could be seen in the crowd.

To close their set, the band sang the lyrically appropriate “Everybody (Backstreet’s Back).”

This may be the era of “One Dimension,” but its also a good stretch to be a fan of the boy bands of yore.

Nick Lachey’s old group, 98 Degrees reunited for a reunion summer tour ten years after they broke up. The Backstreet Boys, minus Richardson, had also previously embarked on a reunion tour with the now ironically named New Kids on the Block.

The Back Street Boys is expected to hit the recording studio for an album due out next spring, coinciding with the group’s 20th anniversary
