A nanny (house help) who specialises in abducting children placed under her care and subsequently demanding for a ransom for their release has been arrested.
The Commissioner of Police in Lagos State, Kayode Aderanti, disclosed the information on Thursday April 16, 2015 during a live Channels TV programme, Sunrise Daily.
According to Aderanti, the nanny who goes by the name Mary Akinloye has been arrested by the Nigerian police and she is currently in detention.
He equally disclosed that the 23-year-old nanny was the culprit behind the kidnap of three children in the Surulere area of Lagos State recently, and later demanded N15million for them to be released to their parents.
As at the time filing this report, the nanny had not be interrogated; it remains to be seen the number of accomplices she may expose as being part of her abduction syndicate.
