Days after Olaniyan Damilola a.k.a Damoche was killed another LASU(lagos state university) student, Kabiru Atoyebi was murdered in his campus which solidified claims that there was a Cult war going on.
After much research and getting info from reliable sources, it was discovered that Damoche was a member of Bucaneers,and was killed by members of rival cult, Black Axe,locally known as AYE. Damoche was shot twice in the head in front of LASU gate at Ojo,lagos.
Then in retaliation, members of bucaneers stormed the apartment of Kabiru Atoyebi, a black axe member, beat him up and killed him.
Police spokeswoman, Ngozi Braide had this to say, “I cannot say if Kabiru was a cult member but I can confirm to you that he was killed in his apartment on Sunday night by suspected cult members. Investigations are ongoing and we will get to the root of the matter and arrest the culprits.”Braide said Atoyebi’s parents had come to collect his remains and would be buried according to Islamic rites.
Meanwhile, no fewer than 70 people had been arrested over the killing of Olaniyan, who was buried on saturday. The suspects who are members of the cult that murdered Damoche were arrested in Ishabi area, Lagos.
A source said, “On Sunday night, based on intelligence, we learnt that some cult members were having a party at an hotel to celebrate the death of Damoche. We immediately swung into action and arrested all of them.
“The suspects were transferred to the Special Anti-Robbery Squad, Ikeja, where they are being interrogated.”
The police has recovered Damoche's phone from one of the suspects, which means the killer is possibly among them.
