However, on Thursday, the three-year-old son was spotted enjoying some rare father-son time as he enjoyed an afternoon out with his father Wayne.
The Manchester United footballer, 26, and Kai, three, were spotted picking up some treats from a local Cheshire garage.

And as he headed to training on Friday morning, Wayne showed off yet another addition to his extensive car collection.
The forward was spotted driving a bright orange Range Rover Overfinch as he headed to training.
The couple revealed on Twitter last month that they are expecting a sibling for Kai.

Writing on her Twitter page, Coleen gushed: 'A few people guessed, so news is out ha!! Me, Wayne and Kai are thrilled that we are expecting a new addition to our family around May time x.
'It's still only early but bursting with excitement! Also wanted the news to come from us, before anyone else!'
Coleen, who was brought up Catholic, has always spoken of her wish for a large family.
In an interview last year, she said: 'I'd like to have maybe three or four children. I’d be happy to be a full-time mum.'

Coleen gave birth to son Kai in November 2009 at Liverpool Women's Hospital with her husband by her side.
At the time, Wayne was reported to have sobbed after midwives placed the 8lbs 2oz tot in his arms.
The couple were praised for refusing big money deals to show off Kai for the first time in an exclusive magazine deal.
Coleen and Wayne wed in Italy in 2008 after a five year engagement. They started dating when they were 16 years old, when Coleen was still at school.
