Sheila, widow of Tai Solarin dies

Sheila Mary Solarin (nee Tuer), the widow of Dr. Tai Solarin, founder Mayflower School in Ikenne, Ogun State and one of Nigeria’s foremost educators and agitators for social justice.
Sources close to the family said she died today in the morning at Babcock University Teaching Hospital in Ilishan-Remo, Ogun State. She was 88 years old.
She and her late husband had two children, Corin and Tunde.

Governor Ibikunle Amosun has since met with the family to pay his condolence. Funeral arrangements is yet to be announced.
Shiela Solarin is a British-born woman. She was rewarded by Queen Elizabeth II on 17 October 2007 and knighted as a Member of the British Empire for her services to education in Nigeria.
Before her death, she managed Mayflower School on behalf of her late husband Tai Solarin
