Woman, 73, robbed and sexually assaulted in Central Park

Around noon, a man attacked the unnamed woman near Central Park West and 74th St., stole her knapsack and fled. Cops are now searching the area.

A 73-year-old woman was sexually assaulted in Central Park Wednesday, police said.

The victim told cops she was approached at about 11:50 a.m. by a man in the park near Central Park West and W. 74th St., close to Strawberry Fields.

The suspect stole the woman’s knapsack, sexually assaulted her and ran off.

Police were searching the park and surrounding blocks for the attacker.
