Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger, has rubbished stories suggesting that he would retire soon. The 62-year-old says he no such plans and is looking forward to rebuilding his squad, which has once again been depleted by the departures of Robin van Persie and Alex Song.
“There are still miles in my legs,” he said. “In life it is like you are going on a mission and it does not cross my mind to finish. You work as long as you can.”
“Yes, I have to rebuild – but to rebuild is exciting,”
Wenger also spoke about the strange feeling he felt, watching Van Persie score for Manchester United.
“I would have preferred to have kept Van Persie,” Wenger said. “There are not 100 players in the world who can score 30 goals in the Premier League.
“It was a fantastic goal. The quality of the finish was tremendous. It was a strange feeling for me… he had the wrong shirt on!”
