Celebrity Baby On Board: Pop Singer Shakira Is Expecting First Child With Footballer Boyfriend Gerard Pique

Colombian singer Shakira is pregnant with her first child. The 35-year-old star yesterday confirmed that she is expecting a baby with her two-year, 25-year-old boyfriend, Spanish football star Gerard Pique.


Shakira revealed the news via her website: “As some of you may know, Gerard and I are very happy awaiting the arrival of our first baby! At this time we have decided to give priority to this unique moment in our lives and postpone all the promotional activities planned over the next few days.”

The singer was expected to perform at the iHeartRadio Music Festival at the MGM Grand Hotel and Casino this weekend in Las Vegas, but had now cancelled her appearance: “…I will not be able to be a part of the iHeartRadio Music Festival, but I’m sure this weekend in Las Vegas will be spectacular and I will be closely following everything that happens there!”

Shakira has been dating Gerard for about two years but she only confirmed their relationship last year when she posted a picture of the pair online with a caption that said, “I present to you my sunshine” in Spanish.
