Arsene Wenger has praised the influence of his new assistant, Steve Bould, as the Gunners look a more solid team this season. Arsenal are yet to concede a single goal in the new campaign and the Frenchman has been quick to note that the former defender, is responsible for the new resolve.
“He is doing a good job,” the Arsenal boss said. “We continue our training regime. He has taken over from Pat Rice [who has retired] for the defensive job, where he is doing very well. Will we finish with the best defence in the league? I hope so.”
However, he was also quick to state that they hope to score a lot of goals too. When Bould and Tony Adams played in the centre of defence under Graham, the “1-0 to the Arsenal” was a common result.
“We want to score goals,” he said.
