Man, 26, arraigned for alleged use of charms

A 26- year-old man, Victor Nmaduka, on Wednesday appeared before a Karu Area Court in Nassarawa State, for alleged use of charms.

The prosecutor, Inuwa Maigida, told the court that one Ige Mohammed and Haruna Usman of the same address with the accused reported the incident at the ‘A’ Division Marararba Police Station on August 25, the News Agency of Nigeria reports.

Maigida said that on the same date, the accused used charms on the bodies of the complainants while having a handshake with them and it caused weakness to their private parts.

The prosecutor said that the offence contravened Sections 216 of the Penal Code.

The accused, however, pleaded ‘not guilty’ to the charge against him.

Justice Albert Maga, in his ruling, granted bail to the accused in the sum of N50, 000, with one surety in like sum.

Maga said that the surety must have a landed property within the court’s jurisdiction.

He, however, said that if the condition was not met, the accused should be remanded in prison.

He adjourned the case to Sept. 13, for further hearing.
