A male nurse-technician in Florida is accused of raping a female patient under his care at the hospital where he worked.
Luis Alfonso Lucero, 37, was arrested Tuesday on one count of sexual battery. His alleged victim was an unnamed 45-year-old woman hospitalized at Miami’s Kendall Regional Medical Center for alcohol intoxication, according to local reports.
Lucero admitted to having sex with the woman while she was hospitalized on Aug. 2, but told police that it was consensual, according to an affidavit obtained by The Miami Herald.
“I would feel very scared,” Lucero’s neighbor, Yaumarys Paz, told a local NBC affiliate. “I think the hospital should have better security.”
Kendall Regional Medical Center spokespeople did not return calls made by the Daily News requesting comment by time of press.
