Prosecutors said Tuesday that the suspect appeared to have forced his way into the victim's apartment late Monday and poured gasoline on the floor.
The gasoline evaporated causing a powerful explosion that hurled the 17-year-old from a fourth-floor window. He died at the scene.
Police say the suspect was also injured in the blast and is currently in an induced coma. The man had previously threatened the boyfriend because he was unhappy about the relationship with his daughter.
