18 year old Olarenwaju Aremu shocked the police and Newsmen when he said he had no regrets killing his father.
The cold blooded teenager was arrested by the police for stabbing his father, Victor Aremu, multiple times resulting in his death.
When asked why he stabbed his father, he simply stated he could not get his hands on poison or a gun.Upon investigation, it was discovered that olanrewaju was abused by the deceased......according to olanrewaju, the late victor made him study a course (Geology) he did not like at the University of ilorin..the school expelled him and his father refused to send him to school again. he started following his father to work.
Olanrewaju, who is the first of five children, said his father married a second wife and this had strained the good relationship the family once had.
He said on several occasions, his father had sent him out of the house because he hated him.
On the 15th of may 2013, Olanrewaju complained he was ill but was ignored by his parents, his father,Victor started shouting at him as usual,suddenly olanrewaju took a knife and followed his father,who was already making his way up the stairs, and stabbed him severally...his father ran down...olanrewaju followed him and stabbed him once more.
The murderer stated that he had complained to family relatives about his father's behaviour to him but no one listened.
Olanrewaju is currently cooling off at the State criminal investigation department(SCID), Yaba, awaiting trial.
