Cooking up feast ... Ben Spalding
THE world’s most expensive Christmas dinner is going up for grabs today — costing an eye-watering £125,000.
The festive meal will include a £37,000 bottle of champagne that pre-dates World War I, exclusive Almas caviar costing £5,000 and the world’s priciest watermelon, costing £2,600.
Among the ingredients is a whole white truffle for £3,500 and dodine of rare breed turkey with Wagyu beef
fillet and heart for £5,000 – which is wrapped in £6,000 worth of edible 50-carat gold leaf and sprinkled with £5,000 pistachios.
Only one meal, serving four people, is available. And the feast will be prepared by rising star chef Ben Spalding at the home of the buyer on Christmas Day.
Spalding, head chef at London restaurant John Salt, has also worked with Gordon Ramsay and Heston Blumenthal.
Marcel Knobil – founder of website VeryFirstTo, who is offering the culinary treat – said: “This menu is certainly for expensive taste-buds but it will be an unrivalled gastronomic delight.
“It fits perfectly into our remit of enabling individuals to be the first to know about, and have, newly launching luxury products and experiences.”
