Barca take on Celts in the Nou Camp on Tuesday, and Messi is prepared to put taking care of Celtic ahead of his momentous arrival.
Messi insisted: “I will play against Celtic and nothing else will influence me.”
The couple already know it’s a son and have revealed they will call him Thiago.
Argentinian sensation Messi, rated by many as the game’s best ever player, has netted six goals from six Barca games this season.
And he has vowed he’ll score in the Group G tie — so that he can dedicate the goal to Messi junior.
The committed Messi has already promised boss Tito Vilanova he WON’T be distracted for the visit of Neil Lennon’s men — even if Thiago is born on matchday.
Both his and his partner’s parents have jetted into Barcelona in expectation.
He added: “My dream will be to dedicate a goal to my son on the field.
“I am happy at the arrival of my family from Argentina for the birth.
“Now I want my child to arrive in perfect health.”
