Rihanna Prays For Chris Brown During Assault-Related Court Appearance

Rihanna tweeted a prayer directly to Chris as he prepared to defend his community service sentence on September 24 – which stemmed from his 2009 assault of the pop singer! He re-tweeted her message, saying ‘thank u so much.’ Read on for all the details.

As Chris Brown prepares for a visit to Los Angeles court on Monday, Sept. 24 to answer questions over the community service he was ordered to serve as part of his probation from the 2009 assault case involving Rihanna, he’s got at least one person rooting for him: Rihanna herself!

The Bajan beauty, 24, tweeted a message of prayer and hope to Chris, 23, on Monday, September 24, saying “@chrisbrown I’m praying for you and wishing u the best today!” Chris quickly retweeted RiRi’s message and added a reply of his own, saying, “thank u so much.”

Chris is due in court to clear up concerns that he may not have completed his community service sentence as previously thought. In June of 2009, after Chris was convicted of the assault of Rihanna that February, Chris was placed on probation and ordered to perform six months worth of community service.

NME reports that it had previously been thought that Chris had completed the terms, but a prosecutor “raised concerns” about the number of hours performed and Chris was ordered back in court on Sept. 17 to clear up the confusion. The case was pushed back a week to allow authorities to more fully prepare Chris’ probation report for inspection, changing the court date to Sept. 24.
