Thirteen Nigerian men are currently standing trial at a Bloemfontein Magistrate Court in South Africa for drug related offences.
According to reports, the Nigerians were arrested alongside three South African women and two South African men during a three-day sting operation which ended last Saturday [Aug 18].
Banned substances such as cocaine, tik, cat and dagga, and five vehicles allegedly used by members of the group during covert transactions were seized.
The suspects were brought before the court on Monday, but the lawsuit against them was postponed "for seven days for further investigation", an officer with the South African Police, Zweli Mohobeleli, was quoted as saying.
Mohobeleli said the purpose of the operation was to curb the spread of drugs in Mangaung.
