Nofemele, who is from Khayelitsha in South Africa, was convicted last week of 12 counts of rape, 12 counts of abduction and one of murder, iol.co.za reports.
He confessed in court to abducting each of his victims, aged between two and eight, by luring them from their homes with the promise of chips and sweets before raping 11 of them. One of the girls was raped twice.
On September 12 last year, during Nofemele’s second-last attack, he admitted to abducting, raping and murdering another five-year-old girl.
In his plea explanation, Nofemele said further that he choked the little girl because she would not stop crying.
After a while, when she did stop, he realised that she was dead.
According to reports, Nofemele was sentenced in the Western Cape High Court on Monday.
