Shock could best describe the expression on the faces of members of the press as they listened to the confessional statements made by 50-year-old Oby George, over the role she, and other members of a baby-for-sale syndicate, played in helping women deliver babies. 

Making the confession recently in Lagos, at the state Police Command, the Port Harcourt-based woman, who had been in the business for over a year, confessed to having helped women deliver countless number of children through a very questionable method. This she does after she is been paid between N1,500,000 to N3,000,000, depending on the sex and number of babies her clients

I am utterly surprised and shocked that this Inhumane practice is still in existence in Nigeria, and in Akwa Ibom for that matter... But thank God...last week, the state government, in a bill passed by the House of Assembly and signed by the governor, Chief Godswill Akpabio, outlawed the custom which maltreat widows after the deaths of their husbands, declaring it prohibited.

According to Akpabio, who spoke on democracy day, no widow through out the state would be made to participate in such custom...he also added that the defaulters would face 3 years in prison.

Some people are very wicked...how can you subject a mourning, heartbroken woman to drinking the water used to bath the dead body of her spouse...can you imagine such wickedness? i heard it also happens in Imo state...and if it's true, Governor Rochas should follow in Akpabio's steps

CBN GOVERNOR Sanusi Lamido's affair with Maryam Yaro exposed!

Twenty minutes to midnight on February 25, 2013, and a day before the board of the Central Bank of Nigeria was due to meet, Governor Sanusi Lamido Sanusi developed a craving for romance - he badly needed a kiss.

The governor, married with children, grabbed his mobile phone and typed out a message. “Maybe you should come kiss me before board meeting tomorrow,” Mr Sanusi wrote and then squeezed the send button.

At about 9 a.m. the next day, Mrs. Maryam Yaro, a married mother of two, an assistant director and subordinate to the governor at the CBN, arrived at Sanusi’s unnamed Abuja hotel, seeking to keep the date and help address his boss’ craving for a kiss. (Insiders say board members, including those who live in Abuja, are usually lodged in hotels ahead of board meetings).

Lamido should sue his call service provider

I  am suspecting that Lamido was betrayed by the telecoms company he is subscribed to.... there is no other way that premium times would have so much facts, even knowing the exact content of the text message.

Premiumtimes cross check their facts before publishing and i suspect that a 'mole' in the telecoms company gave the CBN chief away, and probably got paid for revealing such an info. This whole issue is causing a lot of frenzy and at the time of this report filing, both parties are trending on micro blogging site,Twitter.

A journalist with premiumtimes, Micheal Abimboye has taken to twitter to state that the story about Lamido's affair was infact true.

Observe!.....he tweets that people don't know that telecommunication companies keep records of all the text messages and calls....is that not enough evidence to prove that the service provider lamido subscribed to is the real culprit?

People are saying it's a rubbish story...but frankly speaking...i believe the newspaper house...they might have evidence to back this but are scared to publish it so as to protect the life of their informant and the reputation of the Telecoms company.

Cold blooded 18 year old shows no regret for killing his father

18 year old Olarenwaju Aremu shocked the police and Newsmen when he said he had no regrets killing his father.

The cold blooded teenager was arrested by the police for stabbing his father, Victor Aremu, multiple times resulting in his death.

When asked why he stabbed his father, he simply stated he could not get his hands on poison or a gun.Upon investigation, it was discovered that olanrewaju was abused by the deceased......according to olanrewaju, the late victor made him study a course (Geology) he did not like at the University of ilorin..the school expelled him and his father refused to send him to school again. he started following his father to work.
Olanrewaju, who is the first of five children, said his father married a second wife and this had strained the good relationship the family once had.

He said on several occasions, his father had sent him out of the house because he hated him.

On the 15th of may 2013, Olanrewaju complained he was ill but was ignored by his parents, his father,Victor started shouting at him as usual,suddenly olanrewaju took a knife and followed his father,who was already making his way up the stairs, and stabbed him severally...his father ran down...olanrewaju followed him and stabbed him once more.

The murderer stated that  he had complained to family relatives about his father's behaviour to him but no one listened.

Olanrewaju is currently cooling off at the State criminal investigation department(SCID), Yaba,  awaiting trial.
